Welcome to Empowered by Eleni ⚡

The meaning of Eleni is "sun ray" “torch” (from ancient Greek “helánē/ἑλάνη”

When I was younger I used to feel ashamed of my name… not only my name but my childhood. It wasn’t until 2016 that I truly began my own journey of self love, self mastery, and still… there is still so much to learn (unalome), and I am so excited to be on this path of self discovery. I truly feel empowered in my body and I desire more than anything else to take you on this journey.

Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live
— Jim Rohn

In 2015, my mother took me to my first hot yoga class where I felt the physical benefits of my asana practice, however, it wasn't until I ventured off into my own yoga practice in San Francisco (where I attended nursing school) that I began to realize the powerful potential behind my mind, body and soul uniting. With yoga, I began to have more self awareness, which led me on another journey. A journey of health and wellness.

I did not all of a sudden feel the empowered version I share with you today. In my childhood, I struggled with a lot of digestive issues; suffering from spending way too much time on the toilet as well as digestive discomfort. My mom, as a nurse, realized I was lactose intolerant—after taking out dairy I felt less discomfort but still wasn’t feeling 100%. I would frequently have nose bleeds, allergies, and even eye infections.

Then college came… I was always a thin girl growing up, however, in college I gained about 15 pounds, granted a lot of the weight came from filling out my womanly shape (which I have come to finally love). I struggled with disordered eating, feeling uncomfortable in my own body… my digestive issues also came back with a vengeance. Not only was I having crazy bloating but I also started to develop acne—something that was foreign to me all throughout my childhood. I would have deep pimples in my cheek area that would stay for weeks.

I decided I needed a change. I didn't have health insurance at the time and I was reading online that my acne could be due to hormones and so I went to planned parenthood… and the doctor wrote me a prescription for birth control. On top of the 15 pounds, I gained another 10 pounds in the first months of birth control… not only this but I started to have mood swings, more acne, no libido, and overall felt DISEMPOWERED in my body.

I knew something was wrong. I started listening to health podcasts and became aware of functional medicine through Dr. Cabral.

Functional Medicine is a systems biology–based approach that focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease

After running my own labs and truly becoming my own advocate, my imbalances slowly began to balance. I would go on about all the imbalances I found out through my testing and all my protocols, however, I would rather much work with you to support your process!

I have the healthy lifestyle I have because of perseverance, education, knowing that true wealth is health and inspiration from others. I know firsthand that the odds of success go up dramatically when you have a support system and a plan. Nothing brings me greater fulfillment than guiding someone to feeling good in their body, because I understand the struggle it took to get to mine. No matter your story or history, you can overcome more than you realize, and, through nutrition, a proper functional medicine approach, mindset and lifestyle, lead a happier, more energized and healthier life.

With my experience, my special interests include:

Digestive And Gut Health

Hormone Balance

My certification is from the esteemed Cabral Wellness Center in Boston. Through this program I have access to Functional Medicine Labs, which provide a much more in-depth analysis than standard blood tests, helping identify the root cause of health issues. My approach is comprehensive and holistic, although I often find that gut healing & addressing internal and external stressor are essential to body balance.

Over 90 days I help my clients build plans they can use and adjust over time to be well and age well. Each body is unique & each plan customized, but I usually incorporate these methods:

  • Orthomolecular: supplements to address deficiencies & optimize health and anti-aging

  • Ayurveda: herbs for detox & bio-balance

  • Functional Medicine: labs and data to identify vitamin and mineral deficiencies, toxicity, bacteria and yeast levels, inflammation and hormone, thyroid, adrenal imbalances

  • Bioregulatory Practices: eating plans, wellness & anti-aging protocols

  • Resetting Sleep Patterns & Stress Management

  • Gut Repair Protocols (candida, yeast, bacteria overgrowth & leaky gut)

Your health is the most important investment you can make.

I start by identifying the deficiencies and imbalances causing chronic symptoms then I create a comprehensive plan for lifestyle, supplements, protocols, exercise & healthy eating. Each body wants something a little different & plans are fine-tuned over time.

We are are all connected; to each other, biologically, to the earth, chemically. To the rest of the universe atomically

Here is to empowering each other!
